The Mets have signed 33-year old lefty swinging 1B/3B Mike Lamb to a minor league contract. He has played in 2 games in AAA-ball so far for the Mets and he is 1 for 7 (.143 avg, .393 OPS). Lamb has played in 936 games in his major league career and he is 739 for 2,668 (.277 avg, .750 OPS) with 380 runs scored, 69 homers and 345 RBIs. Lamb could help the Mets at some point in 2009 off the bench so it was a good move to sign him.
